Hooray – it’s that time again – it’s almost Prime Day 2018! Amazon’s “Black Friday in July” event will once again return starting tomorrow, July 16th at 2p CT, and continuing all-day Tuesday July 17th, with fantastic deals that you won’t want to pass up, available only to Amazon Prime members.
I’ve been scouring all corners of the interwebs to find out what the best Prime Day 2018 Deals will be, and I’ve gathered them up here for you. (And a reminder: if you enjoy this type of content, the best way to thank me is just to follow one of these links on the blog over to Amazon before you do your Prime Day 2018 Deals shopping! Thanks in advance for helping us to keep the lights on around here!)
Deal #1 – Grocery Delivery Through Amazon Fresh
Amazon’s hoping to get in on the grocery delivery game, challenging brands like Instacart and Shipt and maximizing their recent Whole Foods acquisition. While the Fresh service isn’t available everywhere, if it is available in your locale, Amazon will sweeten the deal on Prime Day by giving you $30 off your first order with code “30FRESH”. That’s in addition to the 10% discount Prime members now receive on many Whole Foods products. If Fresh isn’t available in your area yet, you can still take advantage of Prime Pantry service on non-perishables, with $10 off an order of $40 or more.
Deal #2 – Yeti 64oz Stainless Steel Rambler
If you’re a fan of Yeti products, you won’t want to pass up a heavily discounted 64oz stainless steel rambler bottle on Amazon’s sister site, Woot. The ramblers will be featured as Woot’s main Deal of the Day on Tuesday, and while we don’t know specific prices yet, past Yeti sales on Woot would indicate it’ll be around $50. However, Amazon Prime members will also receive an additional 10% off, plus free shipping. That takes the expected price down to ~$45, or nearly 36% off the price available on the Yeti website, but it could even be lower than that. (Update, 7/17 9:00am: It is even lower than expected – $33, plus an additional 10% off for Prime members, so just $30! That’s a nearly unheard of price for Yeti!) Also, if you remember our Woot Bag of Crap unboxing video, you can also find Bags of Crap available for sale on Woot on Tuesday as well.
Deal #3 – Kindle E-Readers and Kindle Unlimited Service
The Paperwhite version of the Kindle, regularly $119.99, will be marked down to $80, so a pretty massive $40 off. And of course, what’s a Kindle without content? Amazon will also be offering 3 months of Kindle Unlimited service for just $0.99, with no obligation to continue your subscription after that time. It’s a great package if you’ve been wanting to give the Kindle a try.
Deal #4 – A $10 Amazon account credit for shopping at Whole Foods
This one’s maybe the easiest deal of all. If you go to any Whole Foods Market in person between July 11th – July 17th and spend at least $10 at the register, you’ll receive a $10 credit to your Amazon account. To make sure you get your credit, you’ll have to download the Whole Foods app, link it to your Amazon account, and then display the “Prime Code” from the app during checkout. But that’s it — super easy, and a nice way of bringing Prime Day off the computer an into the real world!
Deal # 5 – Tuft & Needle Foam Mattresses
Tuft & Needle is one of the many foam mattress-in-a-box companies along the lines of Casper, Purple, Leesa, etc. If you’re looking for a new mattress, perhaps one for a guest room or a kiddo who is growing into their first big-kid bed, Amazon has announced that T&N will be offering up to 25% off mattresses in their Amazon store for Prime Day. While it’s not clear if all size mattresses will receive that full 25% off discount, if they do, that would mean $525 instead of $700 for a King, $431 instead of $575 for a Queen, or $356 instead of $475 for a Full.
Deal #6 – Echo Smart Home Devices
The Echo line is Amazon’s array of smart home devices, allowing you to do everything from adjusting lights and thermostats to playing media to ordering new items from Amazon with just your voice. For Prime Day, they’re knocking $100 off the fanciest of the Echo devices, the Echo Show, while the older Echo Dot model will be marked down to just $35. (Update, 7/16, 10:20a: These are now even lower – just $30!) Even better — these deals are already live now, so no waiting for Prime Day needed.
Deal #7 – Anova Culinary Sous Vide Precision Cooker
Last year it was the Instant Pot. This year, my bet for “trendy yet somewhat unnecessary kitchen gadget” is the immersion circulator, which allows you to do a cooking technique called “sous vide”, which results in incredibly tender meat. The Anova line, which you can control remotely via your Smartphone, is likely to see discounts of around $30 during the Prime Day sale. (Btw, if you *didn’t* get an Instant Pot last year, it’ll likely be on sale again this year too…look for about $40 off the regular price on that.)
Deal #8 – Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones
Regularly $299 on the Bose site and $279 on Amazon, expect a pair of Bose QuietComfort 25 Noise Cancelling Headphones to drop down anywhere from about $75 – $150 off during Prime Day. We know the item will be included in the Prime Day sale because of its inclusion in the Amazon App Prime Day Sneak Preview, so the only question will be how much it will be reduced. My guess is that it gets reduced to about $150, which is the price they went for during a sale on retailer Newegg earlier this year. That’s a great price for this business traveler essential. (Update 7/16, 2:00p CT: Whoa, it’s even better than I predicted…these are marked down to just $125!)
Deal #9 – Tarte Cosmetics Prime Pretties Color Collection
Being that I’m not much of a makeup person, I only learned about Tarte Cosmetics last week, when a 22-year-old raved about the brand’s social media prowess to me in an interview. But I confirmed with my other younger millennial employees: Tarte is apparently the makeup brand du jour right now, and they’re launching this set exclusively for Prime members on Prime Day. The set includes lip gloss (oh, um, excuse me: glossy lip paint…), eyeliner, and mascara for $25. Buying the same items individually on other sites would run you $44, so that’s about a 43% discount — not too shabby.
Deal #10 – Godiva Chocolate Samplers
One of the last sweet Prime Day 2018 deals I’ll leave for you — it’s rumoured, though not confirmed, that Godiva samplers will be featured for up to 40% off on Prime Day. These are great little gifts to stock up on in advance of the Holidays, for people you feel like you should give something to but don’t really have a personal connection with, like teachers, employees, hairdressers, postal workers, etc. I also like to just have a couple stored around the house during Christmas time, in case someone drops by with a present for us and we haven’t thought to get anything for them in return.
Finally, we’ll be highlighting the best Amazon Prime Deals we find throughout the day on our Facebook Page and Twitter channel, so follow us there so that you don’t miss out! And if you find a great deal, let me know in the Comments below. Happy shopping!

Update 7/16, 2:03p CT: Prime Day is live! They’ve marked down the 6-quart Instant Pot to just $59 and there’s a huge markdown on the Game of Thrones Blu-Ray boxset (seasons 1-7) to just $75.
Update 7/16, 2:38pm CT: The Moto X4 32GB is 50% off, down to just $200. That’s a pretty sweet deal too!
Update 7/16, 8:30pm CT: What’s better than discounted? FREE. And that’s what the digital download of classic Garth Brooks album “In Pieces” is during Prime Day. Wow!!!
Update 7/17, 10:00am CT: The freebies keep coming – you can also claim a free family size box of Honey Nut Cheerios!
