Weight Watchers friendly cocktail for summer: only 2 Smart Points per glass.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve been doing the Weight Watchers diet for the past few months, and I’m actually down 30 lbs so far! I’ll be honest — I’d tried Weight Watchers previously in my life and wasn’t so impressed. But this iteration of their program, called Smart Points, has been a really good fit with my lifestyle.

The one big challenge I’ve run into is around wine. I love a nice glass of wine at the end of the evening, but there’s just no getting around that alcohol is a LOT of points.

Luckily, I found a nice little workaround that also happens to be delicious. Instead of drinking plain wine, try making your own low-calorie wine spritzer! It’s a perfect summer-style beverage, and you don’t even have to feel guilty for going for a second glass. (Or, let’s be honest…a third.)

In one pitcher, combine:

  • 10 oz Riesling or other sweet white wine
  • 10 oz Sprite Zero
  • 10 oz peach-flavored zero-calorie soda
  • 1 can (12 oz) grapefruit La Croix

Pour over ice and garnish with your favorite fruit — I like raspberries or orange slices, but anything you have on hand will work.

The result is four drinks worth two Smart Points each, or 8 Smart Points for the whole pitcher —a perfectly reasonable use of points and a nice way to end the day!

This looks great! I’d probably substitute the peach soda for peach schnapps to be honest, haha!

  • Yum, this sounds really tasty. I’d give it a try! Mostly I stick to Diet Cokes, but sometimes I want a cocktail.

I didnt know that weight watchers have cocktails too. This looks great.

  • I don’t like alcohol eating into my dessert calories !Haa haa I don’t drink alcohol for this very reason .Weight control can be tricky .Good tips .

  • That’s a great, fun cocktail for Summer parties! I think i’d probably have to go with a dry white wine as I’m not a fan of sweet wines but this drink would be a hit for a Summer BBQ for sure!

The cocktail sounds refreshing and yum for Summer parties! I like dessert wines and would give it a try!

  • This sounds so tasty! I also did Weight Watchers for a bit last year to drop some much needed pounds. Wine was one of my temptations as well so I am sure this would be a great alternative!
